At Home Sweet Home Daycare, our Pre-School/Pre-Kindergarten children are our most active. At this age, we take full advantage of their zest for life through their natural sense of curiosity. The academic day is filled with reading and writing activities, art, music, and daily routine manipulatives.

Our students will also be encouraged to share, work in small groups, as well as develope their own identity through activities like dressing-up. In addition, to build on their phonemic intelligence, we will have story-time from outside sources as well as from within the daycare facility.

Home Sweet Home Daycare strongly believes that learning takes place in the home as well as out in our sorrounding society. As a result, we will take several field trips. We will take trips to farms, pools and other recreational facilities, police and fire stations, gorges, the library and Science Center and many more.

Much of our internal learning targets are reached through the many projects the students will complete. We take advantage of the holiday seasons and several other celebrated times throughout the year.

We also recognize that during this stage of your child's growth and development, they will be expected to have achieved certain personal benchmarks. For example, sitting in a chair around a table to eat as well as being potty trained. At times, this can be a difficult transition for your child. However, we strongly believe if we work together, this could be a pleasant learning experience for your child. At Home Sweet Home, a reward system will be in place to encourage and celebrate the efforts of your child.

At Home Sweet Home, we have an open door policy in which we encourage you to take full advantage by visiting any time at your convenience. We clearly understand the trust you are placing in our hands when your child becomes a pupil at HSH. As a result, we will do what is necessary to set your emotions at ease by creating the same warm and affectionate environment you and your child have in your actual home.
