Getting Enough Sleep Is Essential To Any Athlete's Success Regardless Of What Level. However, What Separates The Pros Are Simple And Effective Habits Like Waking-Up Properly Each Morning In An Effort To Tap Into Their Natural Power Source

Of course like anything else in life, to reap the rewards of "Tapping Into Your Power Source" takes work. Understand this, your body is like  a stubborn child that needs constant re-enforcements to make a positive change. Practicing the proper way of waking-up in the mornings as a means of improving your body's natural power output may not be noticable at first. Noticable change will come through committment and constistency.  In other words, if you have not been practicing this method before, you will now have to train your body to recognize and adjust to this new behavior. Also, depending on your individual level of adoptivity, the increase in your energy output may come in many different forms. As a result, you have to develop a way to track any changes. This is done through keeping an accurate log of how you feel each day as you perform your regular activities. Furthermore, you must revisit this log to assess any changes. The more accurate you record things in your log, the better the information will be when it is retrieved later.

Gregory Haughton is one of GP Sports & Nutrition's most notable professional athlete. His accomplishments can be traced to some of the biggest stages in the world. As a track & field athlete, Gregory has been successful at the Olympics, World Championships, NCAA Championships and numerous other events. Personally, I have been fortunate to have been Gregory's roommate in college while we were both competing athletically. One of the primary difference between us at the time is that I am an early riser. I have always noticed that Greg stays in bed much longer than myself after he has been awake. For years I simply passed it off as him not being a morning person. However, as we grow and progressed athletically, I found out that there was a method to his sleepiness. He was tapping into his power source and improving it each day by allowing his body to properly wake-up each day. Individually, we have enjoyed successes at the collegiate level as NCAA Champions, but Greg's career ascended to a much higher level. Today ,long after our track & field days have come to an end, Greg still practices this same method of allowing his body to follow the proper waking-up process.

Another secret of the pros that can be used to complement waking-up properly each day, is eating foods that the body can use as a means to replenish tired and possibly over-worked muscles. In the athletic world in sports such as cycling, track & field, and more, adding colors to your food groups is the name of the game. As a result, lots and lots of vegetables are recommended. Just to mention a few that are very beneficial; broccoli has been known to work wonders in tissue repairs. Bell peppers in its rawest form is also essential.

Adding many colors of the vegetable and fruit groups also serve as a vital source of antioxidants; which works to remove toxins from the body that are left behind from certain foods. Yes, certain foods are toxic and reak havoc on the digestive system. For example, having more than the recommended amount of red meats per week takes away from the body's power source by about 25%. This can be noticed when you develop a lethargic feeling after certain meals. During this process, the body has to pull energy from other parts of the body as a means of digesting "hard-to-breakdown" foods which leaves you feeling low on energy and vitality.
